Established in July 2015 by the board and management of Daffodil Care Services, the mission of The Daffodil Foundation is "supporting and promoting the wellbeing of young people in Ireland".
The work of The Daffodil Foundation will focus on;
- Establishing a national outreach service, to be delivered by Social Care Training Ireland through secondary schools, promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
- Young people in Direct Provision accommodation through funding for educational, social and community integrative programmes developed in consultation with all stakeholders, including the Reception and Integration Agency (RIA), Direct Provision centre management and the Minister for State Aodhán Ó Ríordáin with special responsibility for Equality, New Communities and Culture.
- Support for young adults leaving care by providing needs-assessed, financial packages, assisting with their transition to independent living.
Our mission statement provides the flexibility to assess the evolving challenges faced by young people in Ireland and to apply our resources accordingly.
